All about life, ups and downs, as we wait for the return.

My uncle is a marine and his 25 years of service is coming up in May. I am pretty close to him so I wanted to give him something to say thank you for protecting our country. He is one of those guys that never wants anything and always has what he needs. I asked my aunt for some ideas but she had none as usual. I asked my mother as well and she suggested a sports gift basket. He loves NCAA basketball and even played in the tournament back in the day so the gift makes sense but it doesn't really reflect the meaning of the gift. I asked my wife and she started talking about how she wants this new ring she saw the other day and that sparked an idea. Most of the guys I know in the military wear some sort of jewelry. Whether its a chain or one of these they all pretty much have something. So I looked around online for a while and really didn't find what I was looking for. Just as I was about to give up I came across a site that had the perfect custom marine ring. The colors were right and they had his size so I went ahead and purchased it. He is the type that he'll either love it or hate it in which case I am saving the receipt. Sometimes I don't know what I would do without the Internet.
