All about life, ups and downs, as we wait for the return.

I spend a lot of time each week surfing the net. I use it for everything these days from mapping out a trip to buying something random like a baby blanket as a gift. You know I find that most technology doesn't actually save me time except the Internet when I am not goofing around on youtube. The only real problem I have with the Internet is I tend to buy things when I surf. For example, I was on last night to check my email and one of those pop up windows came up with a online jewelry store promising all kinds of discounts. In the back of my mind I have been thinking I would like to get something for my wife in the next couple of months so of course I click on it.

I searched the website for a while and they have several good deals but didn't really see anything that caught my eye. Just as I was about to got to bed and close down for the night another pop up window came up and it was one of those that allows you to play a game before it takes you out to a website. I played for a while and then sure enough it took me to a website where I could purchase raffle tickets to win a new Macbook Pro. I was able to talk myself out of this as well but it was not easy. I wish this kind of stuff wasn't possible on the Internet at times. I really wonder how much these kinds of advertisements generate on a yearly basis. Does anyone out there have a stat I would be interested to know?
